History

In August 1997, John Boulachanis, with an accomplice, lured Robert Tanguay to a sandpit in the Rigaud region. He then gunned him down in cold blood, shooting him in the head with several bullets from a .22 calibre firearm. The body was buried in the pit and was only discovered in September 2001.

The investigation led to the arrest and conviction of the accomplice. However, despite searches and the issuing of an arrest warrant, John Boulachanis is still at large. He is being sought for first-degree murder.

John Boulachanis may have fled to the United States or to Greece.
